    Edward Robinson November 1, 1858 Boston 1931 was an American writer and authority on art, born in Boston in 1858. Biography He graduated from Harvard College Harvard in 1879, and spent the following five years in study, especially in Greece 15 months and in Berlin 3 semesters , devoting his attention chiefly to archaeology . From 1895 to 1902, he was curator of classical antiquities in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts , and beginning in 1902 was director of the museum for three years. He became assistant director of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York in 1906, and succeeded Sir Caspar Purdon Clarke as director in 1910. He lectured on archaeology at Harvard in 1893 94 and in 1898 1902, and was secretary of the art commission of Boston in 1890 98. He prepared catalogues and contributed many articles on art and arch ological subjects for magazines. He was a member of many learned societies.     Edward Robinson was a United States Representative from Maine . He was born in Cushing, Maine on November 25, 1796. He was self educated while engaged in seafaring. He then engaged in mercantile pursuits in Thomaston, Maine Thomaston . He was elected as a member of the Maine State Senate in 1836 and 1837. He was elected as a Whig Party United States Whig to the Twenty fifth Congress to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Jonathan Cilley and served from April 28, 1838 to March 3, 1839. He returned to mercantile pursuits, as well as developing interests in banking, and shipbuilding until his death in Thomaston on February 19, 1857. His interment is in Thomaston Cemetery.     Edward Robinson c. August 1839 31 January 1913 was a Member of the Western Australian Legislative Council from 1894 to 1896. Born in Brompton, East Suffolk , England , Robinson was the son of veterinarian William Robinson, and Margaret n e Mary. At the age of four he emigrated to Western Australia with his family, arriving on board the Success in March 1843. He received no formal schooling, and worked as a shepherd in the Brookton, Western Australia Brookton area from a young age. In 1859 he was working as a labourer for John Seabrook , and in 1863 he accompanied Henry Maxwell Lefroy on an exploring expedition to the east of York, Western Australia York . The following year he look up land at Pingelly, Western Australia Pingelly , where he established a wheat and sheep farm in partnership with his stepbrother. He also took up 2000 acres 8  km at Brookton, establishing the Sunning Hill farm. In 1874 he made a second exploring expedition, this time with William Lukin in search of pastoral land. He took up Croydon Station near Roebourne in 1875, and later also Langwell station. On 15 March 1877 he married a widow named Beverley Sophia Pennel Baddock n e Wells they would have no children. In 1885 he sold his entire estate and bought a farm near Bellevue, Western Australia Bellevue . On 16 July 1894, Edward Robinson was elected to a North Province Western Australia North Province seat in the Western Australian Legislative Council. He held the seat until the election of 27 July 1896, when he was defeated by Donald MacKay . He was a member of the Shire of Mundaring Greenmount Road Board from 1904 until his death. He died at Bellevue, Western Australia Bellevue near Midland, Western Australia Midland on 31 January 1913, and was buried in Middle Swan Cemetery.
