Biography Meyer was born at Hamburg and educated at the Gelehrtenschule des Johanneums and later at the universities of University of Bonn Bonn and University of Leipzig Leipzig . After completing his studies, he spent one year in Istanbul . In 1879, he went to the University of Leipzig as privatdocent . He was appointed professor of ancient history at Wroc aw Breslau in 1885, at University of Halle Halle in 1889, and at Humboldt University of Berlin Berlin in 1902. He lectured at Harvard University Harvard in 1909. Honorary degrees were given him by University of Oxford Oxford , University of St Andrews St. Andrews , Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg Freiburg , and University of Chicago Chicago universities. Works His principal work is his Geschichte des Altertums 1884 1902 third edition, 1913 . To the plastic modeller community at large, Eduard has become a household word in the field of photoetched parts, and their products are available worldwide.
