Unlike a self balancing binary search tree , it does not do this incrementally during each operation, but periodically, so that its cost can be amortized analysis amortized over many operations. The algorithm was designed by Category People from Euclid, Ohio Quentin F. Stout and Bette Warren in their 1986 paper Tree Rebalancing in Optimal Time and Space , based on work done by Colin Day in 1976. The algorithm requires linear O n time and is in place algorithm in place . Jay Schottenstein born 1955 is an entrepreneur from Columbus, Ohio . Biography Jay is the son of Jerome Schottenstein and Geraldine Hoffman. Jerome established Schottenstein Stores Corp. and was active especially in supporting Jewish charities. He served as board member of Yeshiva University. In 1976 Jay entered his father s business and later married Jeanne, by whom he has 3 sons Joseph, Johnathon and Jeffrey. He also has three grandchildren, Jacob, Jonah, and Emma. Since 1980 he has served as chairman of American Eagle Outfitters , Incorporated. In 1993 he replaced his father as head of Schottenstein Stores Corp SSC , as well as his charity activities. From 2005, he has served as chairman of DSW, Inc. DSW . He is one of the main contributors along with his family to Schottenstein Edition of the Babylonian Talmud . He is brother in law of Jon P. Diamond . The Schottenstein family s wealth was once estimated at 2 billion, coming mainly from Retail Ventures and American Eagle Outfitters, in which it currently owns a 26.5 stake.
