It was a bestselling historical fiction historical parallel novel that reinterprets the famous United States American novel Gone with the Wind 1936 by Margaret Mitchell . Plot summary The plot of Gone with the Wind revolves around a pampered Southern United States Southern woman named Scarlett O Hara , who lives through the American Civil War and Reconstruction era of the United States Reconstruction . The Wind Done Gone is the same story, but told from the viewpoint of Cynara, a mulatto slavery slave on Scarlett s plantation and the daughter of Scarlett s father and Mammy the title is an African American Vernacular English sentence that might be rendered The Wind Has Gone in Standard American English. Cynara s name comes from the Ernest Dowson poem Non sum qual s eram bonae sub regno Cynarae , a line from which I have forgot much, Cynara gone with the wind was the origin of Mitchell s novel s title as well. Sold from the O Haras, Cynara eventually makes her way back to Atlanta and becomes the mistress of a white businessman. She later leaves him for a black aspiring politician, eventually moving with him to Reconstruction Washington, D.C. The book consciously avoids using the names of Mitchell s characters or locations. 1. The Initiate

Unreferenced date December 2009 The Initiate is a combined anthology and parable dealing with the occult , written by the British composer Cyril Scott in the early 1900s. It was first published anonymously in 1920. Description The book is divided into two parts an anthology entitled Justin Moreward Haig and describing a mysterious person identified only by that pseudonym through a series of anecdotal stories, and a parable illustrating certain principles of occult philosophy entitled The Circuitous Journey. Virtually all the attention drawn by the book has centered on the person and identity of Haig, who is asserted to be a real person a very well known Englishman who was living in London at the time the book was written. The author of the book claims to have become friends with Haig and to have found him to be a most remarkable individual&mdash an initiate or adept, in occult terms. The anecdotes illustrate the somewhat unconventional philosophy held by Haig through the retelling of various meetings and encounters with him and with others, whom Haig usually tries to advise in spiritual or philosophical terms, with varying results. The second part of the book is a highly symbolic and traditional parable in which an assortment of occult principles and virtues are illustrated. This fictional portion of the book tells the story of Antonius, a wealthy and jaded individual who decides to set aside his life of materialistic pleasures and seek greater occult truths on a journey into the mountains to meet the members of a spiritual Brotherhood, accompanied by a female companion named Cynara. Controversy For many years, there was speculation on the identity of the book s author as well as the identity of Justin Moreward Haig. Today, it is known that Cyril Scott wrote the book, but the true identity of Haig, and indeed the question of his actual existence, remain controversial. Sequels The Initiate was followed by two sequels, The Initiate in the New World and The Initiate in ...   more details

  1. Always True to You in My Fashion

Always True to You in My Fashion is a 1948 show tune by Cole Porter , written for the musical Kiss Me, Kate . In the lyrics, the singer protests that she is always faithful to her main love in her own way, despite seeing, and accepting gifts from, wealthy older men. It is sung in the later part of the show by Lois Bianca to her love interest, Bill Lucentio , who has become frustrated with Lois s penchant for older wealthy men. Broadway theatre Broadway actress and singer Lisa Kirk , who originated the role of Lois Bianca, introduced the song in the second act of the original 1948 production. The song was notably sung by Ella Fitzgerald , Eartha Kitt , and Blossom Dearie . It is based on a similarly irony ironic poem by Ernest Dowson 1867 1900 that featured the line I have been faithful to thee, Cynara in my fashion. There is also a version on the Della Della Cha Cha Cha album in 1961 by Della Reese. Cultural references In some versions of the lyrics, there are references to the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston and Mack the Knife from the Threepenny Opera . In an apparent allusion to Porter s song, Morrissey s Speedway , from the 1994 album Vauxhall and I Vauxhall & I , includes the lines In my own strange way, I ve always been true to you In my own sick way, I ll always stay true to you . Infobox Cheese name Queso de la Serena image file Queso La Serena.PNG 220px othernames country Spain region town La Serena, Spain La Serena source sheep pasteurised texture Soft fat protein dimensions weight aging 60 days certification Queso de la Serena is a cheese made from Merino sheep milk in La Serena, Spain , a region of South Western Spain . The pure sheep milk is curdled using a coagulant found in the pistil s of artichoke Cynara cardunculus . This ingredient lends a light bitterness to the otherwise slightly salty taste. It is aged for at least sixty days. The fully ripe cheese has a creamy consistency in the center, and is traditionally eaten by slicing off the top and scooping out the inside. This is the cheese that can be served with a spoon. Some people prefer to eat this cheese with more age when it becomes stronger in taste and consistency.
