Crosssectional data or cross section of a study population in statistics and econometrics is a type of one dimensional data set . Crosssectional data refers to data collected by observing many subjects such as individuals, firms or countries regions at the same point of time, or without regard to differences in time. Analysis of crosssectional data usually consists of comparing the differences among the subjects. For example, we want to measure current obesity levels in a population. We could draw a sample of 1,000 people randomly from that population also known as a cross section of that population , measure their weight and height, and calculate what percentage of that sample is categorized as obese. For example, 30 of our sample were categorized as obese. This crosssectional sample provides us with a snapshot of that population, at that one point in time. Note that we do not know based on one crosssectional sample if obesity is increasing or decreasing we can only describe the current proportion. Crosssectional data differs from time series data also known as longitudinal data , which follows one subject s changes over the course of time. Another variant, panel data or time series crosssectional TSCS data , combines both and looks at multiple subjects and how they change over the course of time. Panel analysis uses panel data to examine changes in variables over time and differences in variables between subjects. In a rolling cross section, both the presence of an individual in the sample and the time at which the individual is included in the sample are determined randomly. For example, a political poll may decide to interview 100,000 individuals. It first selects ... Sectional density is the ratio of an object s mass to its crosssectional area. It conveys how well an object s mass is distributed by its shape to overcome resistance. For illustration, a needle can penetrate a target medium with less force than a coin of the same mass. When a projectile is in flight or impacting an object, it is the sectional density of that projectile which will determine how efficiently it can overcome the resistance to air or object. The greater the sectional density is for a projectile the greater its efficiency is and therefore ability to overcome the resistance of air and object. Sectional density is stated as math SD frac M A math SD Sectional Density M Mass of the object, kg or Pound mass lb A crosssectional Area of a disk area , Metre m sup 2 sup or Inch in sup 2 sup or for projectiles with a Circle circular crosssectional area like bullet s math SD bullet frac M d 2 math d diameter of the circle or the bullet s caliber Units are kg m sup 2 sup or lb in sup 2 sup . br In Europe the derivative unit g cm sup 2 sup is also used in literature regarding small arms projectiles to get a number in front of the decimal separator. Use in ballistics The sectional density of a projectile can be employed in two area of ballistics . Within external ballistics , when the sectional density of a projectile is divided by its form factor it yields the projectile s ballistic coefficient . ref Bryan Litz. Construction Sectional Coolers essentially exist of a turning rotor which is mostly driven via chain. At the ends of the rotor are stiff cases for product feed and outlet. Depending on the size of the cooler the rotor is pivoted either at the ends of its own shaft shaft cooler or is supported on running treads, as it is typical for rotary drums. The interior of the rotor exists of several section shaped chambers which are arranged like cake pieces around a central hollow shaft. This arrangement is completely surround by a water shell. In the section shaped chambers are conveyor elements. According to requirements this can be shovels, chains or similar. According to requirements Sectional Cooler are built with diameters between 0,8 and 4 m and lengths from 3 to 30 m. Function Sectional Coolers work with indirect water cooling. The cooling water reaches the space between the several chambers by an internal central hollow shaft. It circulates between and around the chambers and leaves the cooler through an external central hollow shaft. The product which is to cool usually falls directly into the product feed housing. By the rotary movement and the conveyor elements the product is conveyed to other end of the cooler. The rotation causes a permanent mixing of the product in the chambers and hence a good heat transfer. Applications In Sectional Coolers every free flowing bulk material can be cooled. They often can be found after rotary kiln s in calcination processes or similar. Their intended purpose is usually to reduce the product temperatur as far that it can be handled with other apparatus ... air cooled apparatus in Sectional Coolers appear no problems with product discharge in the airflow ... more details

It has traditionally been published in printed format, originally as a bound book and subsequently in loose leaf format, for ease of updating. History In earlier years, instructions to traincrews relating to the operation of the railway were included within the working timetable s. As the volume of instructions increased, they later came to be published in a separate document, known in full as the Sectional Appendix to the Working Timetable or similar. Content There are modules for different areas, e.g. KSW2 covers Kent and Sussex.
