  1. Continuity test

In electronics , a continuity test is the checking of an electric circuit to see if current electricity current flows that it is in fact a complete circuit . A continuity test is performed by placing a small voltage wired in series with an LED or noise producing component such as a Loudspeakers Piezoelectric speakers piezoelectric speaker across the chosen path. If electron flow is inhibited by broken conductors, damaged components, or excessive electrical resistance resistance , the circuit is open . Devices that can be used to perform continuity tests include multimeter s which measure current and specialized continuity tester s which are cheaper, more basic devices, generally with a simple light bulb that lights up when current flows. An important application is the continuity test of a bundle of wires so as to find the two ends belonging to a particular one of these wires there will be a negligible resistance between the right ends, and only between the right ends. 1. Continuity correction

In probability theory , if a random variable X has a binomial distribution with parameters n and p , i.e., X is distributed as the number of successes in n independent Bernoulli trial s with probability p of success on each trial, then math P X leq x P X x 1 math for any x 0, 1, 2, ... n . If np and n 1 &minus p are large sometimes taken to mean 5 , then the probability above is fairly well approximated by math P Y leq x 1 2 math where Y is a normal distribution normally distributed random variable with the same expected value and the same variance as X , i.e., E Y np and var Y np 1 &minus p . This addition of 1 2 to x is a continuity correction . A continuity correction can also be applied when other discrete distributions supported on the integers are approximated by the normal distribution. For example, if X has a Poisson distribution with expected value then the variance of X is also , and math P X leq x P X x 1 approx P Y leq x 1 2 math if Y is normally distributed with expectation and variance both . Applications Before the ready availability of statistical software having the ability to evaluate probability distribution functions accurately, continuity corrections played an important role in the practical application of statistical hypothesis test statistical tests in which the test statistic has a discrete distribution it was a special importance for manual calculations. A particular example of this is the binomial test , involving the binomial distribution , as in checking whether a coin is fair . Where extreme accuracy is not necessary, computer calculations for some ranges of parameters may still rely on using continuity corrections to improve accuracy while retaining simplicity. 1. Video Continuity

Orphan date February 2009 unreferenced date May 2009 This term can refer to a variety of topics including the way a story is created in video form and the way video clip s are shot from an artistic perspective. All of these aspects are important and can be heavily influenced by a videographer s personal style. In general, video continuity has to do with the way clips are assembled to create a smooth flow of video for the viewers. One easy way to create good video continuity is in the effective use of close ups. Essentially a videographer should shoot a close up clip to go between any two clips of other type during a given scene. Example Mike is studying for his Anatomy test and we d like to watch him making an outline. First we shoot a wide shot, then a close up, then a medium shot , then another close up. If we leave out the close ups the viewers eyes must jump to keep up. However the close ups allow viewers to easily track between each of our other shots.
