Non composmentis is a term meaning not of sound mind . Non composmentis derives from the Latin non meaning not , compos meaning having command of , and mentis genitive Grammatical number singular of Mens mens , meaning mind . It is the direct opposite of Composmentis of a composed mind . Usage Although typically used in law, this term can also be used metaphorically or figuratively e.g. when one is in a confused state, intoxicated, or not of sound mind. Also applicable in health care, when a determination of competency needs to be made by a physician for purposes of obtaining informed consent for treatments and, if necessary, assigning a surrogate to make health care decisions. While the proper sphere for this determination is in a court of law, this is practically, and most frequently, made by physicians in the clinical setting. ref http content.nejm.org cgi content full 357 18 1834 Assessment of Patients Competence to Consent to Treatment ref In English law, the rule of non composmentis was most commonly used when the defendant invoked religious or magical explanations for behaviour. Unreferenced stub auto yes date December 2009 Orphan date November 2006 Mens Mentis Praecelsus is Latin , literally translated into English language English meaning exceedingly high thought . It is a non religious , philosophical idea which can be applied to many belief s. It states that everywhere, at all time, you have an equal, and an opposite. The only thing that has no equal or opposite, is the Ultimate, all that is, which is everywhere and all time, that most people would consider to be God. But, because the idea of this God works how it does, it means that all things are within this God, which has no equal or opposite. To most new to the concept, it is a seemingly impossible parodox in itself. It is an incredibly difficult concept to comprehend, some compare it to the problems people have understanding the Christian Trinity being one indivisible God. It means that a person has one exactly like himself, or one who is perfectly compatible with that person, and one person who is perfectly unlike him, for better or worse. This means that no matter how good of a person you are, or how good you are at something, there is one who is just as good, and one who is exactly opposite. It is also the name of an intellectual, submission based website www.mmpworld.com created by Paul Fletcher Hill and Jake Rosenwald in January 2010. The website publishes intellectually stimulating articles in topics such as art, literature, music, philosophy, and science. Gehennesis is the third released album by the Danish Melodic Death Metal band ComposMentis band ComposMentis . It was released in Denmark on March 26, 2007 and released in the rest of the world on June 18, 2007. It was recorded at Zigzound, Viby, Aarhus, Denmark during 2006. For a year or so, The Drunken Diamond and The Mind s Eye were the only ones to be published, though the record already had been finished. This was due to the bands need of a record label, but in the end of 2006 they found a label, and thus they signed with Mighty Music. Some months later, in March, the group released their new album on Mighty Music. The title The title, Gehennesis is a wordplay combining the words Gehenna and Genesis , the latter being the first book in the Old Testament and meaning creation. Gehenna Hebrew Ge Ben Hinnom was a valley south of Jerusalem, which was used for rituals and later on was turned into a waste site where a constant burning fire was devouring litter and dead bodies of animals and criminals. As such it became a symbol of destruction and perpetual fire and hence the name Gehenna has later come to be a synonym for Hell. The reviews In Denmark the release of Gehennesis achieved in general good reviews, both the press and others expressed their satisfaction with the bands work. However, their seem to be a tendency to either just cheer the music and ignore the lyrics, or cheer the concept, lyrics and the sound. Track listing I. The Drunken Diamond 5 27 br II.
