The concept of High Conservation Value Areas HCVA was developed by the Forest Stewardship Council FSC in 1999 as a means of defining regions with a specific environmental, socioeconomic, biodiversity or landscape value for use within forestry management certification systems. The Orange Twin ConservationCommunity OTCC is a limited liability company LLC formed to create a pedestrian based eco village and preserve open space on more than convert 150 acre km2 of land located five miles 8 km north of downtown Athens, Georgia .
