He won three County Football Championships in 1973, 1975 and 1976 as well as a Munster Club Championship in 1976. He never managed to win a County Hurling Championship but played in finals in 1968 and 1974. In All Ireland Senior B Hurling Championship 1976 1976 he won an All Ireland Senior B Hurling Championship with Kerry GAA Kerry when they beat London GAA London in the final, Kerry GAA Kerry went on to the All Ireland quarter final were they were unlucky to lose out 3 12 to 3 09 to Galway GAA Galway . His career was cut short after a car accident wile traveling home from a postponed League game in County Carlow in 1978. He died in the mid 2000s, but Kerry hurling people have kept his memory alive by running a very successful Munster Under 16 inter county tournament in his name.
