Their advertising slogan is Britain s Tastiest Chicken The chain was founded in 1986 to compete with the American franchised based outlets operating in the UK. The concept was to open a chain of professionally run fried chicken restaurants offering at least equal quality of food and service as the brand leader, but at a fraction of the set up cost. The first seven restaurants in the chain were opened on the same day in August 1986, they are now the largest British owned chicken franchise trading in the UK and also have several stores overseas.
