Friends of Bonobos is entirely run by volunteers in the US, although the President, Dominique Morel, is based in Pakistan. Dominique and Claudine met in Kinshasa when Dominique was working there. At that time, Claudine was running the sanctuary in a small forested enclosure in the American school compound where Dominique was living.
