Here mercury Hg sup 2 sup is bound very tightly to sulfur, but weathering releases the mercury to the environment slowly. There are also trace amounts of mercury in coal . Human activities have at least doubled the amount of mercury around the globe Citation needed date April 2011 . Chlorine factories, among other sources, release mercury into the atmosphere. This mercury is deposited back onto land and water. Inorganic mercury can be converted by bacteria into the organometallic cation known as methylmercury , MeHg sup sup . This accumulates in fish. The pattern, or cycle, repeats and can happen many times during a relationship. Each phase may last a different length of time and over time the level of violence may increase. about a concept in graph theory space allocated to bicycles segregated cycle facilities In graph theory , an area of mathematics, a cycle space is a vector space defined from an undirected graph elements of the cycle space represent formal combinations of cycle graph theory cycles in the graph. Cycle spaces allow one to use the tools of linear algebra to study graphs. A cycle basis is a set of cycles that generates the cycle space. The binary cycle space Let G be a finite simple undirected graph ... cycle space . It is by definition the subspace generated by the edge sets of all the simple cycle ... here also shown dashed is not a simple cycle but an edge disjoint union of two simple cycles. center Image cycle space addition.png Example for adding two cycles center There are a number of basic results concerning the cycle space. The symmetric difference of two simple cycles is either a simple cycle or a union of edge disjoint simple cycles. Using this observation, one can show that an edge set is in the cycle space if and only if it is a disjoint union of simple cycles. Phrased another way the set F of edges is in the cycle space if and only if every vertex in the subgraph spanned by F has even degree. It is not necessary to use all cycles to generate the cycle space if G is connected and any spanning tree mathematics spanning tree T of G is given, then the fundamental cycle s of T form a basis linear algebra basis of the cycle space, known as a cycle basis . Thermodynamics cTopic Processes and Cycles The Vuilleumier cycle is a thermodynamic cycle with applications in low temperature cooling . In some respects it resembles a Stirling cycle or engine, although it has two displacer s with a mechanical linkage connecting them as compared to one in the Stirling cycle. The hot displacer is larger than the cold displacer. The coupling maintains the appropriate phase difference . The displacers do no work emdash they are not pistons. Thus no work is required in an ideal case to operate the cycle. In reality friction and other losses mean that some work is required. Devices operating on this cycle have been able to produce Thermodynamic temperature temperature s as low as 15 Kelvin K using liquid nitrogen to pre cool. Without precooling 77 K was reached with a heat flow of 1 W. The cycle was first patented by Vuilleumier in 1918, and again in Leiden by KW Taconis in 1951.
