The Great American Bathroom Book is the name of a three book series Vol. 1, Vol. 2 and Vol. 3, published in 1992 , 1993 and 1994 , respectively. The books were published by Compact Classics, a small US publishing house. The vast majority of the books is devoted to short two page summaries of classic literature allowing one to finish the topic at hand in one sitting . It achieved great popularity as bathroom reading material relatively quickly, with all books combined reportedly selling three million copies.
