It describes Bharati Krishna Tirtha s Vedic mathematics his Vedic mathematics , a system of mental calculation . Bharati claimed he had found the basis of this system written in the form of sutra s in an appendix of Atharvaveda which has now been lost. He developed the system further and wrote sixteen books about it. The manuscript of these books somehow got lost and Jagadguru then wrote the book Vedic Mathematics which was published in 1965, five years after his death. In later Hindu mythology Vishnu Purana , Ribhu is a son of Brahma . They are supposed to dwell in the solar sphere, and are the artists who formed the horses of Indra, the carriage of the Ashvins , and the miraculous cow of Brihaspati . They made their parents young, and performed other wonderful works. They are supposed to take their ease and remain idle for twelve days the twelve intercalary day s of the winter solstice every year in the house of the Sun Agohya , after which they recommence working. When the gods heard of their skill, they sent Agni to them with the one cup of their rival Tvashtar , the artificer of the gods, bidding the Ribhus construct four cups from it. When they had successfully executed this task, the gods received the Ribhus among themselves and allowed them to partake of their sacrifices.     Shaunaka lang sa is the name applied to teachers, and to a Shakha of the Atharvaveda . It is especially the name of a celebrated Sanskrit grammarian, author of the IAST gveda Pr ti khya , the IAST B haddevat , the IAST Cara a vy ha and five Anukrama s indices to the Rigveda . He is claimed as the teacher of Katyayana and especially of Ashvalayana , and is said to have united the Bashkala and Shakala Shakhas of the Rigveda . In legend, he is sometimes identified with Gritsamada , a Vedic Rishi. According to the Vishnu Purana , Shaunaka was the son of Gritsamada, and invented the system of the four levels of human life.
