Refimprove date June 2007 Jantirar is a title of the Ethiopian Empire . ref Name Mockler cite book last Mockler first Anthony title Haile Selassie s War publisher Signal Books date 2003 location url http books.google.com books?id aOZKULYp5FAC&pg PR40&ots rSDyIbmobG&dq 22Jantirar 22 wikipedia&sig KB639TCaSixDf0578G9LyHldCpE PPR40,M1 doi isbn 1902669525 page xxxx ref It is borne historically by the head of the family holding the mountain fortress of Amba Sel in Ethiopia , similar to Wagshum , the heridary ruler of the province of Wag , and unlike other aristocratic titles like Meridazmach or Ras title Ras . While that artistocratic family is said to be one of the most noble in Ethiopian history, they never ruled any larger realm than their own district. Empress Menen Asfaw , consort of emperor Haile Selassie , was a daughter of Jantirar Asfaw of Ambassel . The meaning of the title Jantirar makes it unique. The element Jan is the same as the Jan in Janhoye , another word used to refer to the Emperor of Ethiopia . Also, both words after Jan have almost similar meaning in Amharic language Amharic . Hoye or hoyi can be roughly translated into hear me, hear my call , while tirar is a form of Tira which means call or calling. However, the claim that they never ruled any larger realm than their own district can be challenged in many fronts. For example, while the mother of Yekuno Amlak was from Sagarat in the Dessie Zuria woreda , his father came from the highlands of Amba Sel. All the local folk histories and some remnants of the Axumite Kingdom , even before the Zagwe dynasty appears in history, around Lake Hayq of Amba Sel with a church that was founded in the 8th century, suggests that Ambassel and its immediate surrounding Amhara regions were well prepared to produce a king and a legend as it suits its kingdom. It is arguable that their Jantirar can not be so without some connection of their being the origin of Yekuno Amlak. References Reflist Category History of Ethiop ... more details

Wikisource The Promised Key The Promise Key is a Rastafari movement tract by Leonard Howell Leonard P. Howell , a Jamaica n preacher. Published around 1935 under Howell s Hindu pen name G.G. Maragh for Gong Guru , meaning teacher of famed wisdom , the tract bears some close similarities to an earlier 1926 writing by Fitz Balintine Pettersburg , the Royal Parchment Scroll of Black Supremacy , but omitting much of the stream of consciousness language, long opaque abbreviations, and repetition. Some lines of The Promise Key were taken verbatim from Royal Parchment Scroll for example, the slogan Gross beauty is the Queen in hell may be found in both works, as part of a general condemnation of western aesthetics. Most significantly, the identities of King Alpha and Queen Omega were transposed from Fitz Balintine Pettersburg and his wife, as in the Royal Parchment Scroll, to Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia Haile Selassie and Empress Menen Asfaw . This was one of the key innovations of the Howellites, and is today an article of faith of Rastafari. In 1933, Howell started to preach that Emperor Haile Selassie I of Ethiopia Ras Tafari was the Messiah, that Black people were the chosen people, and would soon be repatriated to Ethiopia. He soon attracted the attention of the colonial authorities, and was arrested in December 1934 for sedition. In March 1935 he was sentenced to two years imprisonment, when he apparently wrote The Promise Key. After he was released he published a newspaper called The People s Voice . In 1954, his commune was raided and much literature, including copies of this book, were burned. Howell was found dead under suspicious circumstances in February 1981. Quotes In King Alpha s Encyclopedia he will explain to us all, how worlds are being built and upon what trigger Kingdoms are set on. He will also explain to us the capacities of generations.
