An ArtistRunCentre is an art institution that lacks many of the traits of a Commerce commercial art museum gallery space. By methods and ideologies made popular particularly in North America in the late 1970s, artistrun culture came to prominence in response for the need of an alternative to conventional art museum gallery spaces. Generally working within an established framework, the artistruncentre is now charged with understanding and challenging ongoing contemporary discourse. There aren t typically established limits save, perhaps the cost of what can be shown visually. The artistruncentre often looks outside of its own limitations and boundaries to maintain an active status in its own community. Artistrun centres also generally operate rely on government grants, as opposed the sale of art to maintain their spaces and programs. This assists in eliminating the need to make art specifically for sale, thus giving the participating artist the freedom to create pieces that, if they so choose, distinctly lack commercial ends i.e. performance art , music , experimental pieces, etc . As a result, these institutions generally found in urban center s become not only culturally relevant, but employ distinct voices within their respective communities. Artistrun centres generally have a board of directors and or staff that are practicing artists or curators themselves hence the moniker . An ARI is a project independently run by visual artists which generally showcases the work of local and emerging artists many exist on low budgets and are managed by artist collectives. RunRunRun is an United States American indie rock band from Los Angeles . The quintet consists of Xander Smith vocals, guitar , Nic Speck bass , Doug Palmer guitar , Francisco DeCun drums and Alek Speck keyboards percussion . Discography RunRunRun released their debut double album, Endless Winter on Song&Dance Records in the U.S. on May 16, 2006. A slightly different version was simultaneously put out by Magic Castle Universal in Australia. In 2007, the band released their own EP, Good Company . On June 17, 2010, Pico their second full length album became available through Itunes. In 2011, Rx3 put together a compilation of tracks from all three releases for territories outside the United States. This self titled release, RunRunRun became available digitally on March 22, 2011.
