Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart Mozart s aria for soprano and orchestra Conservati fedele K. 23, 1765 is set to the parting verses of Mandane Artaserse s sister at the end of the first scene. The opera was famously performed in 1734 as a pastiche , featuring songs by various composers such as Attilio Ariosti , Nicola Porpora and Riccardo Broschi . Broschi was born in Naples, the son of Salvatore Broschi, a composer and chapelmaster of the Cathedral of the Puglinese citizens, and Caterina Berrese according to the Book of Baptisms of the Church of S. Nicola, today near the Episcopal Archives . The Broschi family, moved to Naples at the end of 1711, and enrolled Riccardo, firstborn, in the Conservatory of S. Maria di Loreto , where he would study to become a composer under G. Perugino and F. Mancinipresso. Salvatore, meanwhile, died unexpectedly , at 36, on 4 November of 1717. Caterina subsequently made Riccardo head of the family. He made his debut in 1725 with La Vecchia Sorda . Next, he moved to London in 1726 and stayed there until 1734 and wrote 6 heroic operas, his most successful being Artaserse . In 1737 he moved to Stuttgart and briefly served at the Stuttgart court 1736 7 for the Duke Carl Alexander of Wurttemberg, then returned to Naples before joining his brother in Madrid in 1739. His career led him throughout Europe and especially to London , where he was engaged by Georg Friedrich H ndel H ndel , with whom he would build up profitable collaboration relations. Conti performed in many of his works, such as Atalanta opera Atalanta , Giustino , Berenice opera Berenice and Arminio , as well as in a revival of Ariodante . He executed later many first performances for the best famed musicians of his time, including Niccol Jommelli Manlio , 1746 , Baldassare Galuppi Artaserse , 1751 and Johann Adolf Hasse Demetrio opera Demetrio , 1747 . After 1759 Conti left the stage and settled in Rome, where he spent the last two years of his life. Born in Valletta , Malta, Abos studied under Leonardo Leo and Francesco Durante in Naples . In 1756, he became Maestro al Cembalo Director of Music at the Italian Theatre in London . Beginning with the first performance of his opera Ipermestra , in 1724, he became one of the most popular opera composers of his era. Between 1724 and 1740 he composed 19 operas, and for many years worked at the Imperial Court in Vienna . His best known opera is Cesare in Egitto of 1735. Rosanna Scalfi Marcello Fl. 1723 1742 was an Italy Italian singer and composer. Life Rosanna Scalfi was a gondola singer of Venetian arie di battello, and was taken as a singing student by Italian nobleman, magistrate, writer and composer Benedetto Marcello about 1723. Angelo Tarchi c. 1760 19 August 1814 was an Italian composer of numerous operas as well as sacred music . Between 1778 and 1787, he worked primarily in Italy, producing five or six new operas each year. Tarchi was born in Naples . In December 1787 he was appointed music director and composer at London s Her Majesty s Theatre King s Theatre , a position he held until June 1789. Tarchi returned to Italy in 1791 and remained there until 1798 when he went to Paris. He composed several works in the op ra comique genre which achieved only moderate success. When he gave up composing, he became fashionable singing teacher in Paris, where he died in 1814. The Valley Symphony Orchestra in Los Angeles, California is a symphonic orchestra that is associated with Los Angeles Valley College LAVC . The new and current music director of the orchestra is Michael H. Arshagouni, who assumed the helm of the orchestra for the 2009 10 season. Dr. Arshagouni also directs the Philharmonic Choir LAVC and is the current chair of the LAVC Department of Music. The founding musical director is Robert Chauls , a professor at LAVC. Domenico Fischietti 1725 1810 was an Italian composer. He was born in Naples and studied at the Conservatory of Sant Onofrio Porta Capuana under the leadership of Leonardo Leo and Francesco Durante . His first opera, Armindo , premiered in 1742 at the Teatro dei Fiorentini in Naples , though there are doubts about whether he could have started composing at such a young age it may have been by his father. In 1755 he was in Venice to present Lo speziale the apothecary , the first opera with a libretto by Carlo Goldoni . He followed this success with La ritornata a Londra The Return to London in 1756, Il mercato di Malmantile The Market of Malmantile in 1758, Il signor dottore The Doctor also in 1758, and La fiera di Sinigaglia in 1760. These works, all dramma giocoso drammi giocosi , represent Fiscietti s chief claim to fame. In 1764, he moved to Prague where he was associated with the impresario Giuseppe Bustelli at the Divadlo v Kotc ch Kotzentheater . Highly regarded by music historians of his day like Francesco Saverio Quadrio , Jean Benjamin de La Borde and Charles Burney , Orlandini, along with Antonio Vivaldi Vivaldi , is considered one of the major creators of the new style of opera that dominated the second decade of the 18th century.
