Arshak III originally came to power as co king with his brother Valarshak in 380 during Manuel Mamikonian s domination of Armenia. In the mid 380s, after Manuel died, Arshak s power was lessened by invasion of the land by Persian forces. From 387 on he was only king of a small part of Armenia, west of a line running from Erzurum to Mush .
