It is separated from the crater Kostinskiy crater Kostinskiy to the northeast by only a few kilometers of rough terrain. To the west southwest lies the crater Lobachevskiy crater Lobachevskiy and to the east southeast is Ostwald crater Ostwald . This is a worn and eroded crater with an outer rim that has been somewhat distorted in shape due to nearby impacts. Several small craterlets lie along the rim and the sides. The interior floor has also been marked by impacts, including an eroded formation occupying the northwestern portion. Biography As a student, Guyot participated in the 1830 July Revolution , and during the unrest in 1831 was jailed in the Sainte P lagie prison. He has a cultivar cultivated variety of pear called the Docteur Jules Guyot named after him, and the L institut universitaire de la Vigne et du Vin aka Institute Jules Guyot at the University of Burgundy in Dijon is named in his honor. Educated al Rennes , he took up the profession of journalism , coming to Paris in 1867. He was for a short period editor in chief of L Independent du midi of N mes , but joined the staff of Le Rappel on its foundation, and worked subsequently on other journals. He took an active part in municipal life, and waged a keen campaign against the prefecture of police, for which he suffered six months imprisonment. He entered the chamber of deputies in 1885 as representative of the Ier arrondissement of Paris and was rapporleur general of the budget of 1888. He became minister of public works under the premiership of Pierre Tirard PE Tirard in 1889, retaining his portfolio in the cabinet of Charles de Freycinet until 1892. Although of strong liberal views, he lost his seat in the election of 1893 owing to his militant attitude against socialism .
