He was an outstanding bowler, his style being right arm fast underarm and he was arguably the best amateur bowler of the underarm bowling underarm era. In a contemporary report of a match in 1787 recorded in WDC , it says that the excellence of Mr Cumberland s bowling is well known . His career in major cricket spanned the 1787 to 1804 seasons. The Cumberland Fair is an annual farmer s fair held in Cumberland, Maine at the Cumberland Fairgrounds. It is put on by the Cumberland Farmers Club and is usually held the last week in September. History The very first Cumberland Fair was held for two days on October 10th and 11th, 1868 in the center of town in back of what is now Greely Junior High School. The land was provided by Capt.
