The SCSI architecturalmodel provides an abstract view of the way that SCSI devices communicate. It is intended to show how the different SCSI standards are inter related. The main concepts and terminology of the SCSI architecturalmodel are Only the externally observable behavior is defined in SCSI standards. The relationship between SCSI devices is described by a client server service delivery model. The client is called a SCSI initiator and the server is called a SCSI target . A SCSI domain consists of at least one SCSI device , at least one SCSI target and at least one SCSI initiator interconnected by a service delivery subsystem . A SCSI device has one or more SCSI port s, and a SCSI port may have an optional SCSI port identifier SCSI ID or PID . A SCSI device can have an optional SCSI device name which must be unique within the SCSI domain in which the SCSI device has SCSI ports. This is often called a World Wide Name . Note that the world may only consist of a very small number of SCSI devices. A SCSI target consists of one or more Logical Unit Number SCSI logical unit numbers LUNs . A LUN may have dependent LUN s embedded within it. This can recur up to a maximum nesting depth of four addressable levels. There are three type of SCSI ports initiator ports, target ports and target initiator ports. A SCSI device may contain any combination of initiator ports, target ports and target initiator ports. SCSI distributed objects are considered to communicate in a three layer model The highest level of abstraction is the SCSI Application Layer SAL where an initiator and a target are considered to communicate using SCSI command s sent via the SCSI application protocol . Architectural endoscopy is an imaging technology that allows realistic views of a scale architecturalmodel to be created, using an analog circuit analog equipment. Architectural endoscopy attempts to solve the problems encountered by many people who find the visualization of architectural plan s difficult, if not impossible. Often these views provided by architectural endoscopy are superior to computer rendering s due to more realistic lighting and colour rendition . An endoscope connected to a video camera allows for the creation of walkthroughs, allowing the public to share and critique the architect s vision of proposed buildings and cities. noref date January 2009 An architectural designer is an architect that is primarily involved in the design of buildings or urban landscapes, as opposed to the construction documents and management required to construct it. Architectural designers have good creative skills, imagination and artistic talent. Although most students of architecture are trained to be designers in school, not all become designers in practice. Non registered designers are similar, but cannot legally refer to themselves as architectural designers in most parts of the world. Most are referred to as building design ers, especially when not employed by an architectural firm. Many large architectural firms have architectural designers that set what the general public views as the style of the firm s projects. These firms may actually have groups of designers design studios , often divided into their own separate niche markets education, healthcare, housing, etc. In smaller architectural firms, the architectural designers tend to remain involved with the project right through completion, and actually take an active role in documentation and management, sometimes to the point of supervising construction. It is worth noting that most starchitect star architects , that have become household names, are known because of their skill as architectural designers. An architectural educator is one who education educates draws out others about architecture the latter being the broad subject of the design of constructed built environment environment s. Architectural Education has both public architectural education and professional architectural education stakeholder groups. The career of an architectural educator usually develops from a career in architecture or developed interest and practise in architecture and or education about architecture. Educating people about architecture as a system of placing things in the world, which was once considered an elite or sacred form of knowledge . Architecture was archaically defined in Western history, for example, by Marcus Vitruvius Pollio Rome c. 40 BC as a culturally higher order . Yet in writing De Re Architectura Libri Decem On Architecture, in Ten Books , Vitruvius also formalised written Western architectural education. Architectural mythology is the term used to describe the overall story of an architecture architectural work. Sometimes this story is rooted back to our cultural existence. Not all works of architecture incorporate a level of mythology myth but when we discover an architectural work that does reflect a story it is often revealed through art. These stories can also be well hidden to the casual viewer and are often built into the conceptual design of the architectural statement. Some examples are Sydney Opera House , Christian church building church es, Buddhist temple s and Islamic mosque s. Architectural rendering , or architectural illustration , is the art of creating two dimensional images or animations showing the attributes of a proposed architecture architectural design. Computer generated renderings Also known as photo real renderings, but not restricted to that and may also be depicted in none photo real methods. Complex 3d modeling and rendering software is used to create life like images. These are normally done for presentation, marketing and design analysis purposes. Architectural 3D models are to the right proportion, scale and even use real life textures, materials, colour and finishes. Photoreal renderings come in various types specific to their particular use Still renderings Walk through and fly by animations movie Virtual Tours Realtime 3D Renderings Panoramic Renderings Light and Shadow sciography study renderings Renovation Renderings photomontage and others 3D photoreal renderings play major role in real estate sales. It also makes possible to take design related decisions well before the building is actually built. Thus it helps experimenting with building design and its visual aspects. Awards The Hugh Ferriss Memorial Prize is awarded by the American Society of Architectural Illustrators in recognition of excellence in the graphic representation of architecture. It is the Society s highest award. Education Traditionally rendering techniques were taught in a master class practice such as the cole des Beaux Arts , where a student works creatively with a mentor in the study of fine arts. Contemporary architects use hand drawn sketches, pen and ink drawings, and watercolor renderings to represent their design with the vision of an artist. Unreferenced date June 2010 Architectural Animation is a short architectural movie created on a computer. A computer generated building is created along with landscaping and sometimes moving people and vehicles. Unlike an architectural rendering, which is a single image from a single point of view, an architectural animation is a series of hundreds or even thousands of still images. When these images are assembled and played back they produce a movie effect much like a real movie camera except all images are artificially created by computer. It is possible to add a computer created environment around the building to enhance reality and to better convey its relationship to the surrounding area this can all be done before the project is built giving designers and stakeholders a realistic view of the completed project.
