It is as large as 52 football pitches and it is the responsible of the storing of all the non degradable materials of the area. It is named after the nearby village of Gardelegi . History Gardelegi dump has existed for the last 38 years. Initially, it was used by construction companies to throw away all the rubble they created, but time went by and the city council started using it too. In 1986, Gardelegi dump was declared the municipal dump of Vitoria Gasteiz and some improvements were done. All these work was performed by Onandia Company and their job consisted of fencing the place which already was covered with rubbish and constructing a building to control all the scraps. For the last 25 years, Gardelegi dump has been constantly improved by the city council, but the most important work was done in 2003. In this year, the quantity of waste materials that were produced in Gasteiz was enormous and the consistory opted for expanding the dump. During this expansion, a new recycling plant was incorporated. The equipment for this plant, which was the biggest one in Spain, cost more than seven million euros and it was used to recycle the rubbish before taking it to Gardelegi dump. When the vehicle battery is being charged, the alternator supplies it with a large current. If the battery gets disconnected while it is being charged, the alternator current drops sharply and suddenly. The field current cannot drop quickly, so the magnetic field remains large, so the rotation of the alternator continues to generate a large voltage.
