    Emmett Williams 4 April 1925 &ndash 14 February 2007 was an American poet and visual artist. Williams was born in Greenville, South Carolina Greenville , South Carolina , and grew up in Virginia , and lived in Europe from 1949 to 1966. Williams studied poetry with John Crowe Ransom at Kenyon College , studied anthropology at the University of Paris , and worked as an assistant to the ethnologist Paul Radin in Switzerland . As an artist and poet, Emmett Williams collaborated with Daniel Spoerri and German poet Claus Bremer in the Darmstadt circle of concrete poetry from 1957 to 1959. In the 1960s, Williams was the European coordinator of Fluxus , and a founding member of the Domaine Poetique in Paris, France . His theater essays have appeared in Das Neue Forum , Berner Blatter , Ulmer Theater , and other European magazines. Williams translated and reanecdoted Daniel Spoerri s Topographie Anecdotee du Hasard Daniel Spoerri An Anecdoted Topography of Chance An Anecdoted Topography of Chance , collaborated with Claes Oldenburg on Store Days , and edited An Anthology of Concrete Poetry , all published by the Something Else Press owned and managed by fellow Fluxus artist Dick Higgins in New York and Vermont . From the mid 1960s through the early 1970s Emmett Williams was Editor in Chief of the Something Else Press. Biography Schmidt studied music at the conservatorium in Dortmund , at the Folkwang Hochschule in Essen , the Mozarteum University of Salzburg Mozarteum in Salzburg , and he studied Musical composition composition in Karlheinz Stockhausen s Cologne Courses for New Music at the Rheinische Musikschule, Cologne . He started work mainly as a Conducting conductor and performed in concert s with the Bochum Symphony, the Vienna Symphony and the Dortmund Musical ensemble Ensemble for New Music, which he founded in 1962. During this time he received several conducting awards. Biography Raysse was born in a ceramicist family in Vallauris and began to paint and write poetry at age 12. After studying and practising athleticism at a high level, he began to accumulate rubbish odds and ends that he preserved under plexiglas. In 1958 he exhibited at Galerie Longchamp some of his paintings with Jean Cocteau .     Raymond Hains Dinard , 1926 Paris , 28 October 2005 was a France French artist and photographer. Biography In 1945 Hains briefly enrolled in the sculpture course at the cole des Beaux Arts, Rennes and met Jacques de la Villegl that same year. He then collaborated with E. Sougez as a photographer for France Illustration. In 1946 47 he did his first abstract photographs Photographies hypnagogiques inspired by Surrealism using mirrors or taken through deforming glass, which were shown in Paris in 1948. In 1950 he invented the concept of the Ultra lettre and devoted himself to his lettres clat es shattered letters . In the 1950s, together with fellow affichiste Jacques de la Villegl he started using collage and found torned posters from street advertisements in creating Ultra Lettrist psychogeographical hypergraphics . This Neoist Dada spirit would inform the rest of his career. In 1957 he exhibited his torn posters in Paris. In 1959 he exhibited at the Salon des R alit s Nouvelles and was represented at the first Paris Biennale. In 1960 he exhibited an illustration from the Encyclop die Clart s at the Salon Comparaisons he was known as Raymond the Abstract and travelled to Italy. In 1960, he signed the manifesto of Nouveau R alisme with Jacques de la Villegl and Yves Klein they would later be joined by artists Daniel Spoerri , Arman and Martial Raysse . The New Realism movement would like Pop art in New York praise and criticize the mass produced consumer object in assemblages and installations. In 1961 he was represented at the exhibition Bewogen Beweging, Stedelijk Museum , Amsterdam, also shown at Stockholm and Humblebaek, and at The Art of Assemblage, Museum of Modern Art, New York , later shown at Dallas and San Francisco.
