An open market is held twice weekly, on Thursdays and Saturdays, in the pedestrianised centre of Ormskirk . This is permitted by a Royal Charter that was granted by Edward I of England in 1286 to the monks at Burscough Priory. The Priory also gives its name to the local high school , the Burscough Priory Science College , until recently known as the Burscough Priory High School. Bonanno Pisano Pisa , active in the 1170s and 1180s, was an Italian sculptor, mixing Byzantine art Byzantine and Classical antiquity classical elements. Giorgio Vasari wrongly attributed the realisation of the Leaning Tower of Pisa to him in his Vite . Pisano was born in Pisa and worked there most of his life. In the 1180s, he departed for Monreale, in Sicily , where he completed the doors to the cathedral before returning to Pisa, where he died. Pisano was buried at the foot of the leaning tower, where his sarcophagus was discovered in 1820. Works Porta Reale Between March 1179 and March 1180, he created the bronze Porta Reale of the Piazza dei Miracoli cathedral of Pisa , which was destroyed in the 1595 fire. File Tokiwa Gozen fleeing with her children throught the snow.jpg thumb right Tokiwa Gozen fleeing through the snow with her 3 sons as illustrated in a 19th century woodblock print by Utagawa Kuniyoshi Tokiwa Gozen 1123 &ndash c. 1180 , or Lady Tokiwa , was a Japanese noblewoman of the late Heian period and mother of the great samurai general Minamoto no Yoshitsune . Sources disagree as to whether she was a concubine or wife to Minamoto no Yoshitomo , to whom she bore three sons, of which the youngest was Yoshitsune. She was later captured by Taira no Kiyomori , who she served as a concubine in exchange for assurances of the safety of her family. After leaving Kiyomori, Tokiwa married Fujiwara no Naganari . Lady Tokiwa is primarily associated, in literature and art, with an incident in which she fled through the snow, protecting her three young sons within her robes, during the 1160 Heiji Rebellion . She is also known as Hotoke Gozen , or Lady Buddha. References Frederic, Louis 2002 . Tokiwa Gozen. u Japan Encyclopedia. u Cambridge, Massachusetts Harvard University Press. Lane, Richard 1978 .
